
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic, chopped green bell pepper, and chopped onion until softened. Remove from skillet and set aside.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out each pizza dough ball into a circle.
Spread marinara sauce on one side of each pizza dough circle, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the marinara sauce, then layer cooked Italian sausage, mini pepperonis, sautéed vegetables, and shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Fold the other half of the pizza dough circle over the top of the filling and pinch the edges together to seal.
Brush the top of the calzone with beaten egg white and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzone is golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve with sliced white cheese or string cheese on top.
