
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the apple pie filling, caramel sauce, lemon juice, and brown sugar.
- Add the mixture to the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
- Gradually add the ice water, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into circles with a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.
- Place the dough circles onto a lined baking sheet.
- Beat the egg and brush the tops of the cookies with the egg wash.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve the cookies warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired. Enjoy!
