Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter together until the butter is melted. Allow the mixture to cool until it is just warm to the touch.
  3. Add the warm milk mixture and the egg to the dry ingredients. Mix well to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  6. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the risen dough out into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Starting from the long end, roll the dough up tightly to form a spiral.
  9. Cut the roll into slices, about 1-inch thick. Place the slices in a greased baking dish.
  10. Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  12. To make the frosting, combine the softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  13. Spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls.

These Absolutely Sinful Cinnamon Rolls are the perfect treat for breakfast or brunch. The soft and fluffy dough is filled with a rich and sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture and topped with a creamy frosting that will leave you wanting more.

These rolls are best served warm, straight from the oven, but can also be reheated in the oven or microwave for a quick and easy breakfast treat.

Yields 12 servings.
